White Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas! It was our first Christmas day at our own house instead of traveling to visit family or shacking up with my parents during our transition from North Carolina to Texas last year. It was so fun starting our own family traditions and seeing Madelyn's reactions on Christmas morning. She ran into our room as usual oblivious to the presents that appeared under the Christmas tree overnight. When I told her, "Madelyn! Look under the Christmas tree!", her eyes got huge and she ran to open her first present before we could even jump out of bed to join her.

After stockings, presents and breakfast, we all got dressed and headed outside to play in the snow that had fallen Christmas Eve evening. It was her first snow to experience and only lasted until the afternoon sun came out. We are hoping for a big snow later on in 2010.

Madelyn decorated a birthday cake for Jesus on Christmas Eve! She had fun with the sprinkles and sneaking licks of the icing.

What is this? Madelyn got to experience her first snow on Christmas morning!

She had fun throwing snow on mommy and daddy.

And lastly, here are a few photos of our Christmas at my parents house the weekend of December 12 and Jonathan's entire family at our house the weekend of December 19.
